Consistency Check

A quick set of tests to insure your paper is consistent throughout: does one contributing author use British spelling and another American spelling? Are all acronyms explained on first mention? Are compound words hyphenated consistently? Are numbers spelled out in one place and presented as numerals in another? Consistency mistakes are eye-crossingly difficult to spot when you’re editing your own work.
